Gabriel G. Matus Gabriel G. Matus is a senior associate at the law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP in New York City. Mr. Matus' practice primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and governance and securities law counseling for a variety of private and public company clients. He recently represented Hollywood Media Corp. in the $35 million sale of its Baseline division to The New York Times Company, CBS Corporation in its $235 million acquisition of CSTV Networks, Inc., and L-1 Identity Solutions, Inc. in its $35 million acquisition of Iridian Technologies, Inc. Mr. Matus dedicates a significant portion of his time to pro bono matters.

Mr. Matus counsels boards of directors of several not-for-profit corporations on corporate governance and finance issues, including Aid for AIDS International, Inc. In addition, he served as lead counsel for a team of lawyers in New York and Shanghai who secured asylum on behalf of a Tibetan Buddhist and his family, reuniting the entire family in the US more than five years after their separation. Mr. Matus is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Hispanic National Bar Association and Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. He is admitted to the bar in the State of New York.
